Realise new value from an old asset

At Pipe Solutions we have pioneered a technique to extract new value from your existing archival CCTV footage. Most CCTV footage to date has been stored on VHS tapes, CD’s and DVD, rated with an obsolete coding system and stored away in a cupboard somewhere to gather dust. We have found a way to not only make this footage instantly accessible, but to realize it as a valuable asset.

Since 2005 the WSAA (Water Services Association of Australia) standards of reporting have become universally adopted as the standard. Our skilled WSAA accredited operators, using WinCan Version 8, can review existing footages coded in an obsolete standard (AusCodes/Sewer Rat/SUS2000 etc), and update the survey to current standards.

Once this newly coded footage is available, it can be processed by our custom software and linked into a GIS layer. This makes the video footage, survey information and snapshot images instantly available across the corporate network. The ability to see the distribution of faults visually and in context with surrounding geographical features and assets brings a new dimension to analysis and planning.

We have also developed a custom comparative viewing package. By clicking on a pipe feature directly from within the GIS environment, you can view available footage side by side, so that comparisons can be made to determine asset condition and deterioration in the interim.

These comparisons can be utilized to benchmark and apply a pipe deterioration model across your entire storm water / sewer network. As pressure increases to provide a scientifically backed estimation of the condition and lifespan of assets, our rebirthed data together with deterioration modelling can provide a prediction for a cohort of pipes satisfying both accounting and capital works needs.
